Museum building work to commence shortly

The Construction work for our museum building is to begin shortly - Ashworths contractors will be on site later this month to begin erecting the steelwork for the museum.  Further updates regarding the latest project on site can be found on the museum section of the web site.

More construction planned

Easter will see the beginning of a separate construction project - this will be a new engine shed to house the diesel locomotives to be used on the returning Bitumen trains scheduled to begin work this summer.  The site of the building is over the former 'Williams Yard', and trackwork and wall demolition need to be carried out before work can commence.  The building is of a simple barn type, and construction should take no more than eight weeks.

Fleetwood loco move delayed

Whilst some locomotives and equipment have been moved from Fleetwood Loco Centre, the weather and ground conditions have now twice combined to postpone the move of two more of the locomotives.  Watch this space for an update of the loco's expected arrival date.
