Foundations near completion |

The foundations for the workshop area of the new carriage shed are nearing completion, and will soon be ready for the steelwork erection. The workshop section of the building houses a 25 ton overhead crane, and therefore the foundations need to be substantial. Once these are complete, the smaller foundation slabs for the remainder of the carriage area will be laid, and the steelwork erected. Watch this space for further updates.
Hudswell Clarke, Phoenix, is currently recieving a great deal of attention to some eighty firebox stays, found to be leaking during it's recent visit to Embsay. Owner, Andy Booth has spent many hours drilling out the old stays, ready for removal and replacement. It is hoped Phoenix will steam again in the summer. It is also hoped for a miracle ;-) Sorry Andy!
