Barclay 2261 - Boiler in frames! |
27/06/2008 |
Another loco currently under restoration at RSR is the large Barclay 0-4-0ST 2661 "No.6". It's one of the small class of "Fife Flyers" - and has been under restoration since arrival at the railway in 2000. As efforts on 3155 "Walkden" have cooled, more time has been spent on the Barclay - and this week, the new boiler section which was pressed on a couple of months ago, was rivetted on, and lowered onto the frames. Before this took place, the opportunity was taken to turn the loco - and this will enable 2261 to be the first Westerly facing steam loco on the railway when it enters service, hopefully in Spring 2009.

Apologies for the quality of the picture in this instance, but more will follow with further updates.
