Agecroft No2 undergoing repairs

Agecroft No.2 (RSH 7485/1948) has been temporarily withdrawn from traffic after suffering a broken spring during service on 25th September.  In the short term, services will be hauled by a unique example of a "Robert Heath" locomotive, namely No.6 of 1886.  No.6 is being loaned by the Foxfield Railway whilst the repairs are being carried out - and will likely see traffic during October at Riversway.  The loco is due to be delivered to Preston on 29th September, ready for commencing service on October 2nd.

The locomotive has an amazing history - see the Foxfield Stocklist for more information - So, to enjoy a passenger ride behind this highly unusual and unique loco, come along to the railway on Sundays in October, when the loco will be in steam*.

Agecroft's springs will all be fully overhauled and replaced over the coming weeks, to ensure that the engine is ready to service the railway's Santa Specials, running during the four weekends leading up to Christmas.

*All services are subject to locomotive availability.  Heritage diesel locomotives may replace steam in the event of operational requirements.
